Designing for a
Mutually Supportive and Connected Communal Living Environment for Seniors

By 2030, one in four Singaporeans will be aged 65 and above - making Singapore a "super-aged" society. Each of us will probably know a senior, if not being one ourselves.

Frailty, loneliness and social isolation are common ageing issues that can make ageing a negative experience. In Singapore, we are beginning to find more communal living options for the elderly, such as community care apartments by HDB and assisted living facilities, where seniors live in a facilitated community setting that supports their health and ageing needs.

STUCK invites you to consider the ways in which the design of our living environment can help us age together.

This is a Good Design Research project supported by DesignSingapore Council.
